Around 40 dogs were entered in the 12th annual Imperial Beach Surf Dog competition next to the Imperial Beach Pier on Saturday, July 29, 2017. The event also included Barknado, the attempt to break the Guinness world record for the most dogs wearing a shark fin on a beach, which was broken with 61 dogs.
